Bangladesh Society of Pathologists (BSP), is dedicated to enhancing high quality research and education in pathology in its broadest sense. The Society hosts a major conference once a year with outstanding speakers on a range of topics from histopathology, cytopathology, microbiology and biochemistry to diagnostic practice.. Membership is open to all individuals involved in pathological practice, research and education and includes subscription to our Society Journal, Bangladesh Journal of Pathology which remains one of the foremost and highest impact journals in the field. 27th National Convention 2009 of Bangladesh Society of Pathologists was held in Milon auditorium at Dhaka Medical College on 21st March, 2009. Honorable Minister of Health and Family welfare Professor Dr. AFM Ruhul Haque was chief guest. Honorable advisor (health) of honorable Prime Minister Professor Dr. Sayed Modasser Ali and MP Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mihiuddin were special guest. Professor Dr Md. Nazrul Islam, vice-Chancellor, BSMMU, Professor Dr. Shah Monir Hossain, Director General of Health, Professor Dr. Kazi Deen Mohammad, Principal, Dhaka Medical College and Professor Dr. Kazi Moshiur Rahman were guests of honor. The conference was presided over by professor Dr. Tehmina Hossain.

7th Postgraduate Course on Histopathology and Cytopathology, 2009, jointly organized by BSP, WHO and DGHS was held on 22 through 25 March 2009, in MEU, Dhaka Medical College. The CME was Directed by Dr. M B Zaman, New York Medical College. Other Faculties were Dr. Monwar Hossain, Assistant professor of pathology, Dalhowsi University, Canada, Dr. Humayun K Islam, Assistatnt Professor of Haematopathology, New York Medical College and Dr. Towfique A Bhuya, Associate professor of Pathology, Sir Albert Einestein Medical College, New York. About 76 pathologists participated the CME.
